Camera Update - 100% Lost

Yup, it's officially 100% lost. Gone is the Nikon D90, iPad charger, iPad camera connector, 16GB and 4GB SDHC cards, Lowepro 45 Slingshot camera case, time lapse remote, and shutter remote. It wasn't by the tree, which means someone got a nice and tidy little present today. Looks like I'll be filing an insurance claim and forking over the deductible - but hey, at least that's an option, right??

Lesson 1 from today: Always include your contact information somewhere in important, expensive bags.

Lesson 2 from today: Having renters' insurance is NEVER a bad thing. You never know when you're going to need it.

Lesson 3 from today: Even if you "never lose stuff," sometimes you lose stuff. That's life.

Ahhh, dang. I've been there. Such a bad feeling. Sorry to hear this happened! When I lost an expensive item a few years ago, I tried to think of it as a reminder that would prevent me from losing something even more important in the future. So far, so good!

Major bummer man. Sorry to hear about this. Is the dog ok?

I'm so sorry Justin. I really hope that this doesn't completely negate the rest of the awesome weekend we had. If you feel sad, just think of the insanely big 1lb. notorious bear burger. That should at least put you in a little better mood.

I know the rangers office was closed when you tried calling yesterday, but did you try calling today?

Also, to mimic John's comment, how's Naiya doing?

I'm so sorry this happened to you! The worst is losing the photographs, since everything else can be replaced. This is certainly a good testimonial for renter's insurance. I'm hoping someone will return it to you! (fingers crossed!)

@Emily - Thanks - it was very rough, but then it got a lot better! Check out the updated post - someone found the camera and reported it!!!

@John Y. - Yes, she is doing great! She's just not allowed to walk much on the paws for the next couple of days, which means I need to carry her to her food, water, bathroom spot, etc. Small sacrifice :)

@Josh - thanks man. It definitely didn't ruin it; it was an awesome experience, and the burger was epic. See the next few posts... :)

@Meghan a.k.a. "A," thanks a ton. You're right - losing the photos was the worst part, as physical things CAN be replaced. Thanks for those crossed fingers, hahaha - it worked out!!!
